The specialists

17 specialists, each with something it refuses to do.

A single assistant that claims to do everything is a chatbot with a trading theme. These are separate capabilities with separate remits, and the limit under each is as load-bearing as the job above it — it is enforced in that specialist's own code, not requested in a prompt.

Named after instruments of navigation and measurement. A sextant tells you where you are; it does not tell you where to go.

  • Helm

    Synthesises what the others found

Shows the disagreement rather than averaging it away.

  • Plimsoll

    Exposure and risk limits

Cannot lift a limit you set. It can only tell you one was hit.

  • Freeboard

What a proposal does to your account

Reports what a trade would do to the account, never whether to take it.

  • Purser

    Accounts, funding, transfers

Never says money moved without authoritative confirmation.

  • Lookout

    What moved, and when

Reports what moved, never why, unless evidence supports it.

  • Sextant

    Price structure and levels

Will not comment on a chart it was never shown.

  • Chronicle

    News and economic events

Separates a scheduled event from a reported outcome, and never claims one caused a move.

  • Sounding

What a move would do to you

Says what WOULD happen under a stated move, never what will.

  • Crossbearing

Checks the answer against its evidence

Challenges the desk's answer against its own evidence, and never writes an answer of its own.

  • Tally

    Order and fill reconciliation

Treats a submitted order as submitted, never as filled, until the broker confirms.

  • Parallax

    How two markets relate

Says when a sample is too short to claim a relationship.

  • Watchkeeper

    Live strategy rule breaks

Reports a rule that was broken. It never quietly rewrites the rule.

  • Drafter

    Ideas into written strategies

Turns an idea into a written specification. It does not make anything live.

  • Assay

    Tests a strategy for flaws

Attacks a backtest for look-ahead bias and overfitting rather than reporting its best number.

  • Almanac

    Central-bank rates and inflation

Reports published rates and inflation with their dates, never forecasts them.

  • Logbook

    What happened after past proposals

Reports what the market did after past proposals, never what the next one will do.

  • Manifest

    Company figures as filed

Reports a company's figures as filed, never calls it cheap or expensive.
