Why is gold moving today

Lookout reports: Chronicle reports:

Conclusion · assumed

The data does not show why gold is moving today, and it does not establish that gold moved meaningfully.

Price move: Lookout reports XAUUSD at 4175, up 0.24% on the session. That is below the 0.25% threshold it used to flag a move, so it did not conclude gold moved significantly. XAGUSD was down 0.01%.
Scheduled events: Chronicle lists CPI y/y (released 10/12 at 2.74% vs. a 2.9% forecast), Initial Jobless Claims (210.64k vs. 221k), and Crude Oil Inventories (-1.23M bbl vs. -1.2M bbl). Non-Farm Payrolls is due 10/14 at 1:47 AM with a 165k forecast. Chronicle found no evidence linking any of these to a gold move.
Caveat: Both specialists rated their evidence "assumed," and each flagged its data as sample data, not a live feed. Treat these figures as unverified until checked against a live source.

Missing: a live XAUUSD quote, the session's intraday range, and any reported cause for a price move.
